Preventive

In-depth shoes
- Additional ¼ or 1.2 inch of depth throughout the shoe.
- It also provides extra room for foot orthosis or braces.
- Accommodating deformities associated with the diabetic foot such as hammer toes, claw toes, as well as moderate, medial, planter, or lateral bony prominence resulting from charcot deformities.
Rocker
- Aim : To reduce planter pressure with diabetic neuropathy in an effort to reduce incidence of foot pressure ulcers.
- Basic function is literally rock the foot from mid-stance to toe off without bending the shoe or foot.
- It compensate for limited ankle joint dorsiflexion by transferring the motion to the bottom of the shoe sole & relief of pressure under a MTH or toe.
- Rocker sole , that designed to relief pressure on the MTH must be with the apex behind the MTH.
